I have written two books about the emotions of children and teenagers with diabetes experience on a daily basis. The one for children is written for parents and caregivers and the one for teenagers is written for teenagers to read themselves. Parents will also gain some understanding of their child’s feelings about diabetes.
I have written articles for many diabetes related publications like Diabetes Lifestyle, Diabetes Focus, The South African Journal of Diabetes and The Journal of Endocrinology. These can be found online by accessing the publication title.
In all the articles, I abide by the principal that those with diabetes or any other medical condition are humans like everyone else, and have to deal with their chronic condition on top of dealing with their life in general with its developmental needs.
I have recently published a novel which is based on the true story of a young girl in war-torn Europe who undertakes a journey to the West to find a place to belong. It is called “Well Anyway, I Still have Friends”. It deals with loneliness and friendship and the development of resilience when the journey becomes very difficult.
